Jam and cinimon dounut muffins
This week we made Jam and cinnamon donut muffins. We gathered all of our ingredients and we started straight away. While we were melting our butter we had a microwave malfunction, I didn't have a buddy to work with because my buddy was sick. So I had to work with Mrs Heka, but the outcome of the muffins was great.
Applying force
In this experiment you had to seed how high you could get the ping pong ball. All you had to do was apply force to make the ball go high up into the air. I saw a little girl do it and she made it touch the ceiling.

Magnetised and demagnetised
Yesterday we went to Baradene college, for a science road show. In this experiment you had to push the button and the magnet would be activated. When it was activated you had to try and pull the little pin out of the box.

Oreo milkshakes - Technology
In food tech we made Oreo milkshakes. This is my first time in Ms Heka's class and I really enjoyed it, because I really wanted to learn how to make little things like this. It was delicious when I tasted it and hope to make it again. Our focus on food technology is pastry making.

Apple turnovers
WALHT: Use the measurement to make a apple turnover.
For maths this morning we made apple turnovers and weighed the ingredients we used to make this. So when I weighed my apples it was 45g then I weighed my pastry and it was 51g, after we weighed the ingredients we put the apples into the pastry and added some sugar to make it sweet then some milk to make the pastry brown. While the turnover was pre baked it weighed 89g, we waited for it to bake and when it came out we let it cool down before we bite into to it. It was warm enough and my teacher weighed a baked one and it came up to 80g.

I admire Abby Lee Miller, and if I had to chose a person to be it would be her. She is from Miami Florida. Now she is 51 years old and her birthday is on the 21st of September. She works as a dance teacher, and her studio is in Pittsburgh. I want to be her because she has changed so many lives and that is what I want to do when I am older.
The first thing I adore about Abby is her personality. The commitment she shows towards her students is just amazing. She is sometimes showy to other dance teachers because her dancers have good technique. She shows care towards people with different types of cancer because her mother had cancer. Secondly, she is really hard working, she comes into the studio and works for 9 hours a day with her dancers. Abby has a eye for technique, she is also a dance choreographer.
Abby is also music producer and a manger. She is a manager to Kendal K which is one of her dance students. Abby has produced two albums of Kendal’s and one of those albums was number one in China. The music video was such a hit in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania,USA because of her people were flying in from Australia and New Zealand to just go and see Kendall. They would also stand outside the ALDC (Abby lee dance company) studio and look into the glass to just see her dance. So she has made a big achievement by not just knowing her as a dance guru but also as a great manager and music producer. She opened her studio at the age of 13 years old.
When Abby was young her ambition was to open a dance studio and change the lives of young compassionate dancers. She has achieved her goal and changed the lives of these young dancers Maddie Ziegler,Mackenzie Ziegler,Nia Sioux,Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker. The way she trained her students was so amazing some people made a show about the ALDC (Abby lee dance company ) and it was called Dance Moms.
Abby Lee Miller is the person I have chosen to be if I had to be somebody else. I have heard many great things about her. As I like to say Abby Lee Miller has courage and commitment and the power to change kids lives.

AUT Provided lunch
On Tuesday Nestle provide a healthy lunch for us. We had to make healthy choices with the food placed on the table. We used this information in a maths lesson. We had to work out the number of outcomes. I worked out that there were 6 outcomes. I found this task easy because the images helped me understand. Next I would like to do this but with more outcomes.
Kiri Rock climbing - Thank you Nestle and Michelle
After we did relays on the track it was our turn to go to rock climbing with Kiri, the instructor. We got our harnesses on and followed some rules. Were off climbing the walls. As I was climbing I was looking from side to side to see if all the other kids were at the top. I had to let go but I was so scared I hung on the wall for about 2 minutes, then finally I let go off the wall and held onto my rope. Just then Natalia let me down slowly, because I was so scared didn’t climb the walls again. Thank you to Kiri for teaching us rock climbing.

My opinion on ths poster
NZ herald
In my opinion this poster is, that it is not great because what if you have an important call from one of your relatives and you can’t answer your phone. Then when you get home you find out some bad news about someone from your family. So I think this is a bad poster.

Walt: Assign probabilities to simple events using fractions and percentages.
Yesterday I was learning to assign probabilities to a game played with two 10 sided dice. I played with Huntah. We took turns rolling the dice. We rolled it 20 times and recorded our scores in the outcomes column. Of the 20 attempts we were successful 4 times. So the probability is 4/20 as a simple fraction and 20 % as a percentage. We did similar games this week. However, my understanding is a bit unclear. Next I’d like to play probability games online to improve my understanding.
