Matariki poem

I made this post based on the celebration "Matariki".  Matariki is the maori new year. So they celebrate it by having feasts and cooking hangis.  Also telling the myths and legends to the the children.  They sometimes tell the stories about their past and their ancestors.

Bacon and egg quiech

Yesterday at tech we made a bacon and egg quiche. It was really fun working with my buddy Heather. We first had to get our ingredients and make our dough. Then we chopped up some onions and bacon for our filling and then cracked 3 eggs into a bowl of cream. After placing our quiche into the oven we waited, and then it came out and we halved it.

Volume and capacity

This site was about finding the volume in the shape.  Some questions were difficult but most of them were easy.  I still need more practice on volume and capacity because my understanding isn’t quite clear.

The Khan Academy activities were really easy.  I think it was a great site because if you were stuck on a question there are clues to help you. After doing all the questions I check my score and got 9/10. This shows the questions were not that hard to answer and it didn’t challenge my mind

This activity was really easy. You had to pick how high you wanted your box to be, pick the dept of it and pick the height.  After you picked all the things you needed to figure out the area of the cube you made.

Visualizing - Reading T2W7

Text: The soft fur of the dog felt like silk against my skin and her black coloring glistened as it absorbed the sunlight, reflecting it back as a perfect, deep, dark mirror.

The text at the top is the text  was visualising.  So what I visualised in my head I put it onto a google drawing. Our focus for this week was to read the text and create a moving inside you head. I think that this lesson was easy for me, and next I'd like to learn how to visualise text without that much information.

Reading E-astle results

This morning we sat the reading test. I was so nervous that I might get it wrong. But I am at the standard, I am happy with my results.  I am just hoping I get a 5 next time.

Mini Quiche - Food tech

Today we made mini quiches.  It was really cool making the pastry and it was really soft.  We made this because it involves pastry and our focus is on pastry making.  Thats to Mrs Heka for teaching us how to make these delicious quiches.  

Measuring angles

Earlier this week we were measuring angles.  Before this our teacher put tape on some desks and we had to measure the triangles.  We used our protractors to measure it and most of the angles were acute and obtuse.  I had to work with Huntah while doing this maths exercise. 

Aw snap

This morning we did a maths e-astle test. Last term I got a 4B and this term I got a 3A, I have moved a level down. I am very disappointed with my score and my parents wouldn't be happy as well. If I want to get a good score in next test I am going to try my best to not forget what I have learnt.

Samoan language week

Last week Wednesday it was samoan language week. So my teacher decied that we should do a samoan sasa for our dancing time.  Then we did it was really fun exploring the different types of dances samoans do.  Also exploring the wondrous culture.
